Diversity Fashion Show 2026
Third Edition of the African Fashion Show for Charity
May 30, 2026 | Chișinău, Republic of Moldova
The Diversity Fashion Show 2026 marked the third edition of the African Fashion Show for Charity, founded by Yerie Mary Kamara in Moldova in 2023.
The event was organised in partnership with ZIPHOUSE Fashion Innovation Hub, the Technical University of Moldova, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the Republic of Moldova.
It brought together designers, models, students, artisans, young people, women entrepreneurs, representatives of minority communities, diplomats, and partner organisations.
Through fashion, music, cultural performances, and creative expression, the event created a space where people from different backgrounds could share their cultures, stories, and talents.
A platform for inclusion and youth empowerment
The Diversity Fashion Show 2026 was not only a final runway event. It was also the result of activities and creative collaborations organised before the show.
Young people from different ethnic, cultural, and national backgrounds took part in workshops and activities where they worked with fabrics and materials and developed their own fashion pieces and ideas.
A special part of the initiative was the involvement of students from the Technical University of Moldova, who created original pieces using fabrics donated by Yerie Mary Kamara. This gave young designers a valuable opportunity to express their creativity and present their work to a wider audience.
Highlighting Moldova’s minority communities
The 2026 edition highlighted the cultural diversity of Moldova, including Ukrainian, Roma, Gagauzian, and Bulgarian communities, alongside African designers and other international participants.
By creating space for visibility and equal participation, the project helped encourage mutual respect, reduce stereotypes, and strengthen connections between communities.
Through colours, fabrics, traditions, and modern design, the show demonstrated that diversity is a source of beauty, creativity, and strength.
Building connections through creativity
The Diversity Fashion Show 2026 brought together local communities, young creatives, international organisations, diplomatic representatives, educational institutions, and cultural partners around a shared message of inclusion and belonging.
The event showed that fashion can be more than artistic expression — it can also be a bridge between people and communities.
From the African Fashion Show to the Diversity Fashion Show
The first and second editions of the African Fashion Show for Charity celebrated African fashion and culture while also supporting charitable and community-focused causes.
Building on this foundation, the third edition evolved into the Diversity Fashion Show, with a stronger focus on youth participation, minority representation, women’s empowerment, cultural dialogue, and social cohesion.
More than a fashion show, the Diversity Fashion Show 2026 became a platform where creativity connected people and where diversity was visible, celebrated, and shared.
